Formal letter

Gregal road, nº9
St. Pere Pescador

12 April 2013
Mr. Mariano Rajoy
President of Spain
Complejo de la Moncloa
Avda. Puerta de Hierro, s/n.
28071, Madrid

Dear Mr. President Rajoy,

I am writing to complain about two things that I consider so important and which are happening these days in our country: the education and the health service.

First of all, our schools, teachers and students are suffering all the consequences of this terrible crisis. Students do not have the opportunity to study because of the high taxes they have to pay. Furthermore, schools, high schools and universities do not have much money to get better equipment. Moreover, most of the students, when they finish their studies, have lots of difficulties to find a job.

Secondly, something which also worries me is the Medical Service in our country. Doctors cannot do their work because sometimes they are not well paid for it. Another thing is that hospitals do not have enough money to pay all the medicines and surgeries which they do every day. All this these things mean that we cannot be sick because we do not know if we will be cured.

Finally I have to say that like all the citizens in my country, I think that you, Mr. Rajoy, should take these aspects into account and give them the importance they have.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon, before we lose our hopes and our future dreams.

Your sincerely

Sònia Ibáñez Soussi

HUMOR IS NECESARY IN OUR LIVES...

Record and upload audio >>

It's true that human beings spend most of our time laughing about something or another. So, could we live without humor?

On the one hand, we spend most of our time laughing, however, people have got bad days in their lives, so we cannot be happy most of the time...Maybe we can live without humor, but then we wouldn't have fun. Moreover, if we are sad most of the time, then we may get sick.

On the other hand, we need humor to be happy and to forget our problems. When you laugh, people actually drawn to you, and you appear happier and healthier. Moreover, laughing with friends, family...make your relationships positive and enjoyable.

In my view, we cannot live without humor because it makes us laugh, and laugh creates our lasting memories...

A GOOD FRIEND

Jaume's a great friend of mine. He' 23 years old and he lives in Torroella de Montgrí. He's tall, blond-haired and he has got light brown eyes. He's a good-looking boy who likes to practise sport a lot, specially he likes running marathons.

The thing he likes the most is running and riding his bike. When he was 20 years old he began to train to do his first marathon. Nowadays, he has done six marathones and lots of races. He says that for him there's nothing which makes him feel so right, only running.

In my opinion the first time you see him, he seems really shy and unfriendly, but when you begin to speak with him you realize that he's extroverted, friendly, sympathetic, funny, fair, secure, sensible and competitive.

Personally, I think that he's the kind of person who I feel comfortable with: specially because when you are sad or you don't feel so good he understands and helps you because he's so sensitive. And for me this is a good quality of a good friend.

"Should the experiments on human life have limits?"

Frankenstein is a book which talks about a man called Frankenstein who decided to be a scientist. First he began to study the electricity and what can it do, then he studied about the human body dead (corpse), and finally he began to think about to give life to people.

I think that's good that the scientists do a lot of experiments to know more about our planet and to improve all the things around us. I think it's good because on the me hand can improve our lifestyle because it helps us, but not always.

I also think that scientist who want to do experiments with the corpse don't think a lot
with the consequences which it has, because they don't think that if we give life to the corpse at the end we won't have enought space. I know that death causes pain to the people who love them, but I think the world is better as it is because as I said before if everybody gives life to the persons who have died because they love them the world will be smaller for us.

Fairy tale: Young people usually are more astute than old people

Young people usually are more astute than old people:

Once upon a time there was a girl called Carolina. She had five brothers and all of them were older than her.

Every day she had to help her brothers; she had to make Tom’s bed, she had to clean Peter’s shoes, she had to do James’s homework, she had to prepare Paul’s breakfast and she had to iron Frank’s shirts, and she also had to go to buy her father’s newspaper.

She was very angry, so, for her birthday she decided to change all those things; accidentally she left a frog in Tom’s bed, she cleaned Peter’s shoes with honey, a bottle of ink fell on James’s homework, she put salt in Paul’s milk, she burnt Frank’s shirt with the iron, and also accidentally her father’s newspaper fell into a puddle.

After that day none of her brothers asked her for help.

With this story we can see that young people are usually more astute than old people.

Thirteen & Adrian Mole

The stories of Adrian Mole and Tracy are very similar, but at the same time they’re very different too.

For Adrian the most important is to be Pandora's boyfriend and for Tracy is to be popular like Evie.

The similar things between the two main characters are that they are both therteen, their parents are separated and at the end the person who

was his/her best friend becomes his/her enemie.

The most important differences between them are that Tracy to be popular begins to take drugs, cut himself, drinks alcohol... when she’s only therteen, while Adrian doesn’t need to do all that things to get his objective ( to be with Pandora). An other difference betwen them are that at the end, Adrian’s family come together another time, but it doesn’t happen in Tracy’s family.

The thing that surprised me the most is how Tracy changed all his attitude to a rebel adolescent.
