Catherine Hart
Catherine Hart: A former
teacher, she ran her own school for eight years before setting up the website:
streets-of-barcelona.com
Now a days, Catherine Hart
live in Sant Pau, Barcelona. She came to Barcelona in 1978, but then she didn’t
speak Spanish or Catalan, so she felt very foreign. The reason why she decided
came to live in Sant Pau was more a choice of flat.
When she came, she quickly
realized that, different from the Eixample, everything is close by.
She really like the “old
fashioned” charm, and then shops near it where the sellers are very
nice, “with a smile, a hello and with a friendly face”.
The only thing she would like to change is the noise, but
this is difficult or maybe impossible.
She also take visitors for a
brief visit to the Hospitalet de Sant Pau, Sagrada Familia, Barri Gòtic and
Passeig de Gràcia. If they have more time, they also visit Parck Güell, the
Ramblas, MNAC and MNCAT museums…
And finally she said that if
we want to be safe, we should stay with people, don’t flash jewellery or money
around, and don’t look maps or look obviously lost. (But nowadays, I think that
this precaution is in everywhere).
Vocabulary:
